It seems that movies lately have no taste. None of them are unique and they all are very predictable. Every movie spends millions of dollars on special effects or multiple cars. It is sad that many low budget movies are better than many movies with high budgets. Don't even get me started on horror movies. Slash, kill, scream. the sound effects are meant to scare a person, yet the worst I can get to a "scary experience" is higher awareness. The quieter the music gets, the more likely I am to look around and see that tiny movement that give away the killer's position.
Wow, I am scared. That guy has a big knife and is going to kill me. Even though I have 90 knives in my kitchen drawers, I can't stab the guy in the neck, because he is immortal. What is that crap? Is it really supposed to scare me? If it came down to someone breaking into my house, I have a nice shotgun loaded with slugs designed to blow him back out the door that he just busted through. Not to mention my ability to throw throwing knives an accurate distance spanning the length of my house.
Is there any possibility of a comedy being FUNNY? Isn't this the point of a comedy? I would much rather watch a prostitute that is infected with 3,000 different diseases walk the local prostitute street than watch a comedy that has no humor. Oh wow, this movie uses cliche comedy that can make me chuckle at their stupidity.
What makes me want to buy movies that suck? I MIGHT buy a DVD... after the movie has been out for 2 years and some of my friends tell me that it was decent to watch.

[Issue 5] Discrimation
Once again, I come to my loyal readers with another rant.
I notice all over the place that discrimination is illegal, punishable by law. This is a very touchy subject with me, as I am very non prejudice. In fact, I have gone far enough to slap a friend upside the head for saying a racist remark toward another being.
Onto my point. There are many people that will randomly scream out a string of profanities and racist comments toward members of another race, then wonder why the other person punches them. The thing that I wonder, is why an African American or a Chinese, or a Hispanic person can reverse this and say it toward me without any type of repercussions? So, I can be yelled at for being white, but if I should even THINK a certain word that utter enrages an African American, him and his friend can start attacking me?
Does that give me the right to attack someone else for throwing a comment of discrimination toward my own race? I think not, because the minute I punch someone that says something like this, I could get my rear thrown in jail for battery or assault charges. Yet, if I complain about someone of another race beating me, they can get away with it?
I am sorry, but that is utter BULL.
/End of rant.

[Issue 4] College
As many people might know, I have been in college for a little over a year, I am now a Sophomore in my current college. I went from High School in normal classes, unable to get a grade higher than a C+ to current day making B- to an A+ in each of my classes. This is quite a feat for me.
To put it quite bluntly, I am stuck in a dead end job that will never get me a promotion or higher pay. I have been at this current job for more than 2 years. After one year of this repetitive, boring, stressful job, I had decided that I wanted something better. I decided I was ready for college. I took a year off from school right after I graduated high school. Many people mention that after taking a year off, it is hard to go back.
Here is a reality check for anyone that wants to say this same thing. I HATED school. I always hated to do assignments. The real trick for me to like school was to realize that I was in a horrible position, I am going nowhere and not making any money. This gave me the motivation to proceed for the higher aspiration of a better job with better pay. The job I need requires a degree. College gives you that degree you need to get that job you want.

[Issue 3] Funny story
Yet another issue with my own personal opinion. This one may offend some people, do not feel bad, I offend myself at this issue.
A family member brought this up to me and it just struck me. I keep dwelling on this statement, it seems to be ingrained in my skull in the recent times. The statement permanently lodged in my head: [sic] "Shame on you America: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment - yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations."
Dont get me wrong, I find this very miraculous, but really? We have thousands of people living out of a dumpster for food, without home, or about to be homeless. Many of these people would gladly accept aid if presented to them, but we send millions of dollars to a land that is about 1,000 miles away? Sure, I can see that Haiti needs help, it is obvious at this point. However, I can't help but wonder why we can't at least try to help our own as much as we try to help those in foreign countries. This just baffles me. Usually, I like to donate to charity, it makes me feel much better in the end. I know that some of this money is not going to who I intend it to go to, I also know that this money also helps to keep places like the Red Cross in business so that they can continue to help those in need.
For 2 years, I volunteered for several Red Cross affiliates and learned how some of this stuff really worked. It is fascinating how much gets donated, but how little is really usable.
I will stop myself before I go into a long rant and give a short summary: People, please help those from our own country just like you would toward those in foreign nations.

[Issue 2] Media
The media has around for centuries. News in its true form used to be stories told by tribe members that witnessed an event that happened. Yes, journalism is a work of art. It can be a book, a newspaper, or even the television.
What makes the media so high powered in our world? People make it into a religious ordeal, like old ladies gossiping about the lonely widow that hasn't left their home in two days. The truth eventually turns into a half truth, a quarter truth, eventually it becomes a full blown lie. Why is it that the media today cannot seem to tell the stories that people really care about. When they do tell the stories that matter, they fit it into the last 10 seconds of their program. Give me a break. Who cared about Michael Jackson's death. He died, he was known for several decades. What about Farrah Faucet, Johnny Cochran, or even some of the deaths of our fallen soldiers in Iraq? Can't we even give some of our own heroes some parting words? For my family, the military has been a big part of where we have come from. I have heard war stories from the elderly that would make many people's skin crawl. I have heard about their buddies dying in their arms with missing legs or other appendages that are necessary to our well being.
Time to get back on topic. The media is corrupting our lives, of course this is my own opinion. They like to pick on politicians' children, chasing them like the dog catcher to a stray. They lay in wait for that one picture that ends up ruining the politician's career. What are these people getting paid for? If I sat on my fanny all day snapping random pictures at work, I would get fired. This is what it has come to? People getting paid to do nothing all day.
Well, I believe I have gotten my point across. If you agree, leave a message. If you do not agree... well, leave a message anyway.

[Issue 1] The Rebirth
As the phoenix rises from the ashes, this e-zine has risen from the ashes of a dead era. Truth be told, I never thought that it would happen. I never thought that a mythical bird such as this e-zine could ever rise again, but I have proven myself wrong.
The views that will be contained in this collection of e-zines are of one individual that has had an opinion about everything, but has refrained from actually stating these opinions. This e-zine is a no-holds-barred approach to many "restricted" topics that others are afraid of writing.
In each of the following topics from this date forward, I cannot guarantee that some of my views will not offend, but I will do value everyone's opinions, as I believe everyone should be heard.
